We are Lochbroom Community Renewables Limited, a Company set up to build and manage the BroomPower hydroelectric scheme. LCR is a Community Benefit Company registered with the Financial Conduct Authority (registration number 7126). Our postal address is 20 Argyle Street Ullapool, Highland IV26 2UB
How do we collect information from you?
We obtained information about you from the application form you completed to become an investor in BroomPower or when you used the MicroGenius web site to invest in BroomPower.
What type of information is collected from you?
The personal information we collected will have included your name, address, email address, amount of your investment, how long you wish to retain it, the names(s) of any children under 16 for whom you are holding the investment or the person nominated to received you shares on your death.
How is your information used?
We may use your information to:
- send you information about our Annual General Meeting or an Extraordinary General Meeting as required in our Company Rules.
- contact you about payment of your annual interest
- contact you about repayment of your investment
- send you other information specifically related to the BroomPower Hydro Scheme of the operation of LCR
We will hold your personal information on our systems for as long as you remain a member of LCR.
Who has access to your information?
You information will be accessible to the Directors and other project volunteers and to administrative staff of LCR as required to carry out the above activities.
We will not sell or rent your information to third parties.
We will not share your information with third parties for marketing purposes.
We will not release your information to third parties beyond LCR unless we are required to do so by law, for example, by a court order or for the purposes of prevention of fraud or other crime.
We will not contact you for marketing purposes.
How you can access and update your information

You have the right to ask for a copy of the information LCR hold about you.
Security precautions in place to protect the loss, misuse or alteration of your information
When you give us personal information, we take steps to ensure that it is treated securely. We do not hold any sensitive details such as Bank Account details. Non-sensitive details (your email address etc.) are kept in a password-protected computerised database stored on the computer of the Directors. They are not stored on any shared or networked storage systems. The data may be transmitted over the Internet (e.g. in an email), and this can never be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of any information you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk. Once we receive your information, we make our best effort to ensure its security on our systems.
Profiling
We do not undertake any form of profiling other than to establish “Type A” and “Type B” members as required by our Company Rules.
16 or Under
We are concerned to protect the privacy of children aged 16 or under. If you are aged 16 or under‚ please ask your parent/guardian’s permission before providing us with any personal information.
Transferring your information outside of Europe
We will not transfer your data outside of Europe.
